How to refresh your Instagram feed in Squarespace
If you find your Instagram feed isn’t updating on your website then there’s no need to panic, it happens from time to time with Instagram. Just to reassure you, it’s not anything to do with Squarespace but something to do with Facebook, who owns Instagram.
This video is made on Squarespace 7.1 but the method works equally on Squarespace 7.0.
It's very simple to rectify the problem.
Log into your Squarespace account and make sure you’ve got your Instagram account open on your computer too.
Go to SETTINGS and then go to CONNECTED ACCOUNTS.
Click the highlighted red link to Reauthenticate your account.
In the new window that pops up, click Allow.
You should see your IG feed refresh in the Instagram block. If it doesn’t show your new posts then just refresh the page.
If it still doesn’t update there’s one more thing you can do to force it. Go to the IG block and click the edit pencil icon - in the window that pops up, check your account is showing, if it is then click it off and re-enter your IG handle.
Save and refresh.
NOTE: It’s worth remembering to drop into your website from time to time to check your IG is still working. If not just go through the process again.
Hope that helps!
UPDATE: It seems that Microsoft Edge can be temperamental and does not always like logging in to Squarespace ATM. If this happens to you I recommend you use Chrome. I would also recommend you use it as your default browser anyway.
